Muslims, if you are not allowed to draw or have pictures of?

I said pictures and depictions amongst other things. There are some really nice pictures of Jesus and Mary out there, and they do not make me laugh.

you can make fun of evil, but once you have a state of manners absence this means you can do whatever you want, christians drew a false Jesus yet he was a funny material the media used to gain money, do you find yourself respectful in a cartoon? be honest please,,

all Muslims know how does Jesus look like in details, the nice pictures your talking about have nothing to do with the real description of him, and those nice pictures have inspired the cartoonists to make fun and be popular among the others!

Now now…. my dear Belle, where did you see Islamic literature with depiction of the devil. The little red, goat like creature with arrow head tail you see everywhere is not Islamic depiction.

Belle it because in their faith and reasoning allah is to great to be interpreted by man,and would be a great insult to allah to draw him since no one had actually seen him.And I hope you don’t go crazy over seeing a picture of the devil, after all it just a picture.

First of, thank you for the BA on both of your previous questions
I have to agree with you on this question. And also as you may have heard about the teacher letting a child name the teddy bear Muhammad, they all went nuts and the teacher was receiving death threats from some Muslims.
I think some people take Islam to the extreme. There are moderates and extremists like in all religions. I am a moderate Christian. I’m grateful for being moderate.

Like what Dawn said. People already started using pictures of Jesus in cartoons such as The Simpsons or Family Guy. And really I think its an insult. I know what you mean when you say “beutiful pictures” but thanks to those pictures people these days would use those kind of pictures and mock Jesus. I mean just think about it. Have you seen the Sistine Chapel cealing?Well one of the artworks is called “The Creation of Adam” .It has a picture of Adam being given life from God. If you have seen the artwork ,the painter makes God look like an elderly man with a beard (Astaughfirlah). Is this how the Father looks like in Christianity?? Is this how Michaelangelo or whoever painted it believe of how The Father looks like when he never even seen God??
And also its funny how the Pope then and now leaves the painting be.

Its forbidden to draw prophet Muhammed and Allah since we dont know what they look like, we are honest, mature and disciplined towards our religion

Weird… what I know is it’s always the non-Muslims that try to “depict” or draw such drawings. Even if there are Muslims that draw those stuffs, they usually don’t know that it’s haram or they choose to ignore the fact that it’s haram. Anything drawn that have a soul is haram. The sin is on them (Muslims or non-Muslims) that drew it, don’t go judging the whole Muslim community based on one individual.

Muslims are not drawing / sketching devil or any prophet or God.
God (Allah) Himself says in Quran,”there is nothing which can resemble Him” so any sketch can not visuallize Him. Like wise, Mohammad who brought the God command restrict to make pictures as it is the way of satin to make people worship those pictures itself. So muslim do not allow any picture of Mohammad who restrict this bussiness. And those pictures, however, can not give true appearance of him.
To the fellow, who says it is not such a big deal if a teddy bear is named Muhammad. What if the same teddy bear is named as your father name is. Sure, you will feel it insult and will do the same as those muslim student did with that teacher. Pls. bear in mind there is a huge difference between the respect level of your father and Prophet Muhammad.

Out of respect for the holy prophet and his ahlul bayt, or the prophets we do not draw images of them. It is simply disrespectfull, what if they look nothing like the images?

actually we don’t draw or picture or film anyone or anything :angels, God, prophets,devil ,Virgin Mary,hell ,heaven etc.
i personally think the best way to respond to someone who draws and jokes about any religious icon is to neglect him like ’sticks and stones break my bones and bad words never hurt me’ because i don’t care what he thinks, i care what i think.

if drawing picture is haram how do they get away from news paper,magazines books etc. ! how about computer !!
this is so absurd, they dont even use their common sense !! one loses common sense if one blindly follows hearsay,hadith,bukhary.
how about their own avatar !! why would Allah Allmighty ask us to create what you draw !! when Allah Allmighty didnnt give us this ability.
Allah never burdens a person beyong his/her capacity,and this concept makes you deny verses of Glorious Quran !

we are always provoked by christians in particular,under freedom of speech,if freedom of speech is so very important then why BY LAW it is enforced in european countries to believe in holocaust,if one didnt believe in the same the punishment is 3 yrs jail time, why is that !!!

No one knows what Allah(Subhanna wa ta’ala) looks like. Allah(Subhanna wa ta’ala) is different from His Creations, that much we know. He has no need for eating, drinking, sleep, or other human desires or wants. In fact Allah(Subhanna wa ta’ala) doesn’t need us. WE need him. WE need Allah(Subhanna wa ta’ala) to hopefully guide us to His mercy. Without Allah(Subhanna wa ta’ala) this world would be in a complete chaos and a huge mess. Bloodshed everywhere. If you were to draw a picture of one of the prophets(peace be upon them), then that could lead to idolatry.
Abdullah ibn Mas’ood(RA) reported that the Prophet(SAW) said:
“The people who will be most severly punished by Allah on the Day of Resurrection are the picture-makers.” [Bukhari, see Fath al-bari, 10/382]
Abu Hurayrah(RA) reported that the Prophet(SAW) said:
“Allah says: ‘Who does more wrong than the one who tries to create something like My creation; let him create a grain of wheat or an ear of corn.”[Ibid, see Fath al-bari, 10/385]
Ibn Abbas(RA) said:
“Every picture-maker (painter) will be in the Fire, and for each picture that he made he will be given a soul, and he will be punished in Hell.”
Ibn Abbas also said:
“If you must make pictures, draw trees and things that do not possess a soul.”[Muslim, 3/1671]
The Prophet(SAW) said:
“The angels do not enter a house where there is a dog or pictures.”[Bukhari, see Fath al-Bari, 10/380]

Belle, you need to shut up, and shove it.
Who said Muslims even have depictions of Shaitan? I’ve never seen a picture of the real Shaitan. Isn’t it the Pagan/Christian custom to often dress as the devil during Halloween, or special costume parties?
There is a common depiction of the devil as a red-bodied, two-horned, filled with rage entity, but we aren’t really sure how he looks like.
All statues and depictions of Jesus are based on descriptions, and this is forbidden in Islam, because once Jesus comes back to earth to reveal the Truth to anyone, and most Christians see that he looks nothing like his statue depictions, will they believe him?
You might reject your own “savior.”
So, seriously. Stop picking on the most absurd things, and just shove it.
